Helene Kiecolt joined Brown, Kaplan & Liss LLP in 1988.  She is actively involved in the firm’s audits and reviews and has broad experience with both small business and not-for-profit organizations.

Of her auditing responsibilities she says, “With the passage in 2003 of SAS#99 (an accounting and auditing standard), auditors must maintain sustained professional skepticism and must gather much more information to assess fraud risk than in the past.  More than ever before,  auditing in the 21^st century challenges us to truly understand a client’s business, ethics, and corporate culture.”

 Helene and her husband are longtime residents of Evanston and have raised two sons here.  She is an avid lover of the outdoors. “I’m trying to discover a way to do all my accounting and auditing outside,” she says.

Helene is a member of the AICPA, Illinois Society of CPA’s, and is licensed to practice in Illinois.
